Viva La Luna's "The Last of Me" brings together tracks written between 2018 and 2024, blending lo-fi downtempo, trip-hop, a touch of drum & bass and electronica with echoes of Middle Eastern folk. From the haunting textures of “Devedikeni” and “Mérida” to the raw intimacy of the title track, the EP feels like a personal diary stitched from memory, imperfection, and atmosphere. Samples from Gustavo Santaolalla, Vangelis, PFM, Sezen Aksu, Nizamettin Ariç, Umut Altınçağ, and others surface like ghosts, tying Western to Turkish, Kurdish and Zaza traditions. The EP embraces imperfection, uneven mixes and tape-like textures as part of its character. Inspired in part by Boards of Canada, along with echoes of Istanbul nights and broken memories, "The Last of Me" feels both nostalgic and experimental: a farewell that lingers like a memory.
